Traps is a black feminist comedy about a female veterinarian who takes vengeance on the two men who raped her - using the skills of her profession. The scene where the rape victim castrates the male rapists provides a shocking, yet riveting display, just as Marleen Gorris’ A Question of Silence does in showing a man being murdered by three women (who are indirectly victims of patriarchy).
 With its prologue describing the essential differences between men and women, and the conflict and difficulties communicating based on these differences, the film preludes a ‘war between the two sexes.’Furthermore, Chytilová makes negative remarks on masculinity itself and the difference in male subjects. Whilst masculinity is defined as internalized violence and greed, difference in male subjects can be described by the degree of: who’s greedier and more violent?
 Raising ‘rape’ as a starting point for analysis of morality and power relation in contemporary society, this comic/tragic film clearly shows what ensnares human beings into social, psychological traps varied from the traditional hierarchical relation between man and woman, to the aggressive human instinct of self-preservation.
