As in Even Cowgirls Get the Blues and Thelma and Louise, something happens when a woman goes to the desert. Constructed as non-fiction, this animated film tracks the past and the present of Rosita Guzman, a legendary escaped prisoner, to reveal how a legend is created. The filmmaker says the film is inspired by a short story written by her father. It is refreshing to hear the story about a ‘bitch hero’ among all the heroic legends in the Mexican desert. (Jenna ku)
