SYNOPSIS
Waiting for Spring entwines through time and space the lives of two sisters in their 80s, respectively living in Gyounggi Providence in Korea and Los Angeles in the U.S. Director met her great aunt living in Los Angeles in 2000 and was given this letter from her, intended for her grandmother.
Director¡¯s statement for choosing two elderly women¡¯s communication as the theme for this documentary is touching and beautiful: ¡°I didn¡¯t know what was written in the letter, yet I could feel the affection and sadness they shared as sisters who spent their childhood together, watched each other¡¯s wedding, and now are anxious over whether or not they can meet each other before their death. I was so happy that I could help them communicate with each other and I wanted to do it again. I wanted to bring their lives together.¡± (Kim Eun-shil)
