SYNOPSIS

A musical set in Australia during the 1930s this film begins with a white family relocating to the Australian outback. One evening, drawn by the beauty of the moonlight, the young daughter disappears from home. The police recommend the talented Aboriginal tracker, Albert, to be assigned to the missing person case, but the father stubbornly refuses to permit any Aboriginal on his land. Days go by without a clue, and the mother, determined to find her daughter, pays Albert a visit.
Based on the true story of famous Aboriginal tracker during the 1930s, Tracker Riley, this film focuses on the psychological journey of the missing child¡¯s parents, especially the mother, rather than the results of the search. The film also explores the Aboriginal and the white people¡¯s differing perspectives on the environment. Unlike any other musical, this film delivers every line in a song. Paul Kelly, who participated in the musical compositions, plays the father, while Kelly¡¯s wife and daughter in real life play mother and daughter in the film. The natural light creates a fantastic aura while the intense tunes of the guitar leave an impressive sensation throughout the film.
