SYNOPSIS

A middle-aged woman lights a cigarette. She writes a letter and reflects on her past life through the cigarette smoke, as the butts pile up. An influential woman animator, Renault interweaves historical aspects with her own private smoking history, opening the leaves of her autography with each puff of smoke. A fascinating movie star with a cigarette, a hippie smoking marijuana, a conference room filled with cigarette smoke and a meager smoking room in a corner beside an imposing ¡®No Smoking¡¯ sign... Every corner of her life is soaked with cigarette smoke. Many people currently try to argue for a ban on smoking. What would the film evoke for Korean women who are still not supposed to smoke in the street? (Jenna Ku)
