SYNOPSIS
Roya and Fereshteh, who first meet as university students, have very different lives after marriage. Fereshteh was called a genius, but Roya was considered more mediocre. They were closer than any other friends while at university, but lost contact with each other after Fereshteh withdrew to the countryside to escape a stalker. In the first scene, the two women meet after Fereshteh calls Roya from a hospital where Fereshteh¡¯s husband is. Through a series of flashbacks, Fereshteh¡¯s past life unfolds. She tries to shake off the stalker¡¯s shadow on the way to her home town, but unfortunately she hurts a child and the child is run over by the stalker¡¯s motorbike and killed. He is sentenced to 13 years in prison and Fereshteh is forced to marry a man who has fallen in unreciprocated love with her, in order to redeem the disgraced reputation of her family. Her husband, however, keeps her locked in their home, hides the telephone and flies into a rage at the thought that she might want to escape from the marriage. She has been married for ten years and occupied with bringing up her two children. One day, the stalker, released from prison, comes to see her again with a knife and knifes her husband. Although she hears news of her husband¡¯s death and finally takes back her freedom, she has lived without self-regard for too long. The last scene, where Fereshteh calls her best friend, Roya¡¯s name, is striking. (Kim Sun-ah)
