SYNOPSIS
¡®Gaea Girls¡¯ is a famous Japanese women¡¯s pro-wrestling team. The directors Longinotto and Williams present a dramatic world where women¡¯s desires and their reality cross. A newly arrived teenage trainee claims that despite the harsh training and brutal matches, she wants to become a pro wrestler in order to express her anger and gain acknowledgement from others.
The head coach of Gaea Girls, Nagayo, is a strict mother and a charming love interest. Nagayo naver compromises; she will not tolerate sympathy to the opponent. Because of that, the atmosphere in the ring is always filled with extreme violence and tension. The camera focuses on two young trainees who least resemble Nagayo; one is unable to adapt to the harsh training inflicted upon her, whereas the other faces numerous humiliations from the senior members who try to toughen the trainee¡¯s willpower. Will the trainees fail or will they realize their dreams of becoming proud members of Gaea Girls? (Nam In-Young)
