Helen and Paul have been married for 25 years. Helen is a working class woman who is sick and tired of her mundane life. Paul is on the verge of giving up his own life, worn out from poverty and alcoholism. One day, a runaway from a forced marriage, Tasha, and her mother come into their lives. A Rumanian-Czech immigrant, Tasha is a friend of their daughter. Helen becomes friendly with Tasha. Following 3 different individual perspectives, this film presents the true relationship between a British working class woman and a Czech immigrant with a touch of the ¡°Dogma¡± style. Actor/director Jan Dunn captures the reality of racism, sexuality, the immigrant experience, and intimacy with her lively camera. This was one of the best queer films in 2005, winning the Levi¡¯s First Feature Award at the San Francisco Frame line Festival as well as awards at many other film festivals. (KIM Sunah)
