Soonyoung's Love Story is a slideshow work produced in 1987 by the Korean Women Workers Association (now the Seoul Women Workers Association, SWWA), exploring women's sexuality, romance, and marriage. This year's retrospective presents, for the first time, a digitally restored version created through scans of the original slides by the SWWA and the SIWFF. Following the screening, the director and producer of the film will reflect on the women's labor movement and moving-image practice of the late 1980s, and discuss the significance of bringing the restored work back to audiences nearly forty years later.

Following the screening of Saint Omer, which sharply questions social perceptions of motherhood through the trial of a woman accused of infanticide, this roundtable explores the questions at the heart of the special section Mad or Bad: Rethinking the Villainess. Beginning with Saint Omer and Medea,the discussion traces the many names that different eras and societies have imposed on women, such as "witch," "bad mother," "mad woman," "dangerous woman," "ugly woman," and "unlikable woman," inviting the audience to reconsider the social norms and cultural narratives surrounding women's bodies, desire, agency, power, motherhood, and freedom.

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Small Talk, the Teddy Award-winning documentary at the Berlinale that explores a family’s past through the filmmaker's relationship with her lesbian mother, this special screening is followed by an insightful talk with director Huang Hui-chen, who is also the author of Me and My T-Mother, Joining her are Vivian from the Parents and Families of LGBTIQA+ People in Korea and Noh Youda, Co-Publisher of Oomzicc Press, which published the book in Korea, for a dialogue that crosses the boundaries between the everyday and the extraordinary.

Women filmmakers working across Taiwan, Vietnam, South Korea, and Canada come together to reflect on today’s filmmaking landscape through their experiences of making films as women in Asia. They discuss the opportunities and challenges they face across different cultural, industrial, and social contexts, international co-production and collaboration, the possibilities of Asian cinema, and ways of building new networks and spaces for collaboration across borders. The conversation also explores gender equality in the film and media industries, the sustainability of creative practice, and the present and future of filmmaking across Asia and beyond.

Every year, experts from various fields participate as special guest curators in the "RE:Discover by Curation" program, selecting films they wish to revisit with audiences. This year's first curator, author Chung Bora, will screen the horror film Shutter (2004), which deals with analog-style sexual exploitation that existed even before the term "sexual exploitation" became commonplace, and will have an in-depth conversation with the audience afterward.

Writer Seong Haena, this year's curator for RE:Discover by Curation selected Jonathan Demme's Rachel Getting Married as a film she wanted to watch with the audience, describing it as “a noisy and combative wedding movie.” Following the screening, she discusses the film with the audience through the perspective of a writer who has long captured subtle fractures in characters and relationships
