Pitch & Catch is a production support program of the Seoul International Women’s Film Festival that fosters the planning and development of feature-length film projects led by women creators. Launched in 2010, the program celebrates its 17th edition this year, having consistently discovered and supported excellent and creative works with an impressive production success rate. Each year, Pitch & Catch selects outstanding projects through an open call. Finalists are given the opportunity to refine their projects through mentoring and special lectures, enhancing both the quality of their work and their pitching skills. These projects are then presented to industry professionals in a competitive pitching event during the festival.
For the 17th edition of Pitch & Catch, a total of 155 projects were submitted. After a highly competitive preliminary selection process, eight projects—five fiction films and three documentaries—have been selected as the finalists to pitch and compete for a prize total of KRW 30 million during the festival dates. The pitching event will take place on Tuesday, August 25, and Following the pitch, project meetings with industry professionals will take place. Participation in the event and meetings is available by pre-registration, with on-site registration also available on the day. The winners will be selected by a panel of five industry professionals serving as the final jury and will be announced at the closing ceremony on Wednesday, August 26.
