SYNOPSIS
A young woman descends on to a household seeking revenge for her sister’s attack and is presented with two possible targets, both of which insist on their innocence once the battle commences.
PROGRAM NOTE
Produced as part of the Kyoto Filmmakers Lab’s Jidaigeki workshop, which paid tribute to two sides (Kyoto-based period drama and Tokyo-based modern drama), this film is an attempt to transform a masculine samurai story into one of dynamic female action. Suzu is searching to avenge her younger sister. But there are many poisonous things around, and not all perils are so easy to recognize. [A, HAEPARI]

Goto is a Japanese filmmaker. She obtained a Bachelor of the Arts in Art History from the University of Tokyo and a Master of Fine Arts in Filmmaking at Columbia University. She participated in the Kyoto Filmmakers Lab 2020 and Bucheon Intl. Fantastic Film Festival’s Fantastic Film School 2020. These days, she works from her homes in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Shizuoka.
