The modern dance drama Pallae: Woomanhood Story, which was premiered in 1993, comes back on stage 28 years later. Five female dancers, from their twenties to forties, come together to signify and portray “washing” with their bodies in the context of their lives. If “washing” as a performance on stage was a work that deeply illumined labor, solidarity, and a sense of community, the film Pallae: Woomanhood Story is a record about what artistic creation is and how the reflection and discovery, acquired in labor and the everyday world, can lead to the creator’s work.
