JO Hae-won
Born in 1934, Jo Hae-won was a member of the theater company August Theater and appeared in a supporting role in Shin Sang-ok¡¯s The Flower in Hell in 1958. After working for many years as an assistant director, he made his directorial debut in 1965 with The Tiger Moth, starring Kim Ji-mee and Shin Young-kyun. He went on to direct a series of distinctive films blending mystery and action, including Red Ants (1966), Horrible 18 Days (1968), Escape in the Mist (1970), and Motel (1971).
