Synopsis
In a Chicago apartment building, Corky, recently released from prison, takes a maintenance job and hopes to make a fresh start. There she meets Violet, who lives next door with Caesar, a money launderer for the mob. Violet boldly approaches Corky, and the two are soon drawn to each other. One day, Violet proposes that they steal two million dollars in mob money from Caesar and run away together to start a new life. They devise what seems like the perfect plan, but as unexpected complications arise, Corky, Violet, and Caesar become caught in an increasingly dangerous game.
The feature debut of Lilly and Lana Wachowski, Bound reworks the conventions of the crime thriller through a queer female narrative, portraying the desire and solidarity between two women in this accomplished neo-noir.
