Synopsis

Ga-young learns of her mother’s death from Sun-ae, her mother’s longtime girlfriend. Though awkward and uncomfortable with each other, the two come together to hold the funeral of someone who was family to them both, and Ga-young gradually begins to discover a side of her mother she never knew.

Director's Statement

Through the situation, one that some might find absurd, I wanted to portray the diverse forms of queer families and what lies in their hearts. Just as it happened for me, who made this work, and for Gayoung within it, I hope that audiences too will have a small moment of understanding another person.

Born in 1996 in Seoul, Ahan Daseul holds a BA in Sociology. She has built her career in the film industry through her work at film festivals, a film commission, and by making short films that explore social issues.
