Synopsis

Lin is a migrant woman working at a Vietnamese grocery store in Korea. But after Oksun, a Korean employee, joins the staff, the store that once felt familiar to Lin gradually becomes unfamiliar.

Director's Statement

In Korean society, immigrants are often portrayed as vulnerable, yet they lead vibrant lives. This energy may come from the spaces they have built for themselves in a foreign land. By capturing moments in which two groups situated at the margins of society remain not as “others” but as “beings,” this film seeks to ask how we, as strangers to one another, might live together.

Director

PARK Yujeong

Park Yu Jeong studied film directing at university and likes finding stories in everyday life, especially within Korea’s international communities. She is interested in migration, identity, and the unexpected connections between people, and enjoys working closely with the people she meets to bring their experiences to the screen. Her short film Asian Mart (2025) was produced as her graduation project with support from the Seoul Film Commission.
