Synopsis
Orlando begins his journey in the court of Elizabeth I, seeking love and freedom as a man. Over 400 years, he crosses gender boundaries and searches for identity—chasing a Russian princess on the frozen Thames, undergoing a sex change in Central Asia, experiencing love and loss in the Victorian era, and facing war and motherhood in the 20th century, before arriving in the present. This remastered version of Orlando is Sally Potter's adaptation of Virginia Woolf's classic novel, starring Tilda Swinton.

Sally POTTERSally Potter's bold adaptation of Virginia Woolf's classic novel, Orlando, was nominated for two Academy Awards and brought her work to a wider audience. It was followed by The Tango Lesson (1997), The Man Who Cried (2000), Yes (2004), Rage (2009), and Ginger & Rosa (2012). She has also directed numerous short films, a television series, operas, and other live works. Full retrospectives of her career have been held at BFI Southbank in London, MoMA in New York, and the Cinematheque in Madrid. Her book Naked Cinema was published in 2014.
