Synopsis
Hazal's greatest wish is simply to live. Despite countless job applications, she never gets an interview and remains stuck in an unhelpful Job Centre training program. On her eighteenth birthday, while waiting to enter a club, Hazal and her friends are turned away because they don't belong. On the way home, she is verbally abused by an arrogant student. Fueled by anger from repeated rejection, Hazal flees to the unfamiliar city of Istanbul, where she must survive at any cost.

Aslı ÖZARSLANAslı Özarslan (b. 1986, Berlin) is a German-Turkish filmmaker. She studied theater, media, philosophy, and sociology in Bayreuth and Paris, then trained in documentary directing at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Her award-winning documentaries include Island 36 (2014) and Dil Leyla (2016). Her feature debut, Elbow, premiered in the Generation 14plus section at the 74th Berlinale.
