Synopsis
Jeongyeon and Ji-eun, longtime friends, face the subtle oppression women experience within the small world of their school and struggle with uncertain futures. Should we just endure it all? When will we find the answers to life? Though we're a bit loud and clumsy, we come to learn that it's okay to be that way.
Director's Statement
There are moments when, in conversations with old friends, I suddenly realize things. ¡°Don¡¯t you think we could do anything if we were together? Just being with each other feels like something good could happen. And if work doesn¡¯t work out, let¡¯s open a shop together.¡± We used to say things like that all the time. My longtime friends, and the many women who remain vivid in my memory—through them, I learned the most reckless yet certain kind of hope. We could get angry together, cry together, and laugh together. Even when it felt like the world was collapsing, they gave me the courage to keep going. To these women, I offer this clumsy film as a gift. And to the women who know this ambiguous hope, and to those who will carry it someday—this is a story from a young woman to others, for women, about women, and by women.
