Synopsis
Single, office worker, disabled person, actor, activist—there are many ways to describe Mina. On the day she comes to celebrate her friend Hyunkyung's wedding, she comes across a lost black Chihuahua. She names the dog Maru and begins to uncover Maru's life—especially the time Maru has endured, simply for being "cute."
Director's Statement
Actor Kyungmin spoke to me about the three taboos often placed on women with disabilities: dating, marriage, and childbirth. I made this film while reflecting on how we might become a little freer from these taboos.

LEE HyunbinBorn in Seoul, director Lee Hyunbin moved to Gunsan in 2021 with her dog Maru. Lee studied film at the Korea National University of Arts. Her work aims to tell stories for and about people and places confined to the realm of "shame" in Korean society. Lee is also interested in the relationship between nature and humanity, particularly in exploring the intersection of artistic creation and the Anthropocene perspective.
