SYNOPSIS

Park Su-nam dedicated her life to documenting the testimonies of Korean victims of the atomic bomb, Okinawan conscription victims, and Japanese military comfort women. Now in her 80s, Park decides to digitally restore 100,000 feet of footage, captured on deteriorating 16mm film, with the help of her daughter.

Director

  • PARK Maeui
    Born in Japan in 1968. The daughter of director Park Su-nam, she has been involved in her mother¡¯s film productions since her teenage years. Since 2010, when Director Park Su-nam lost her eyesight, she has been responsible for video editing and film restoration.
  • PARK Soo-nam
    Park Soo-nam, known as the author of The Collected Letters of Ri Chin'u and Crime, Death and Love, was involved in the production of four documentary films. Her films are made with the historical testimonies by the Korean atomic bomb survivors, Korean civilian workers and ""comfort women"".
