SIWFF has held polemic talk events on the hottest feminist issue every year. This year’s focus is the issue of ‘Jang-Hak-Sun’ (referring to a series of sex scandals of actress JANG Ja-yeon, former vice justice minister KIM Hak-ui and a club Burning Sun) to discuss how women have been traded and exploited for unfair profits to strengthen corrupt powers in the male-centered nightlife scene in Korea. In particular, the forum intends to examine and publicly discuss the male-centric practices in Korea’s entertainment industry who is behind the glory of Hallyu.
