SYNOPSIS

As soon as Loan arrives in Korea from Vietnam to live with her Korean husband, her motherin-law takes her to a beauty salon first and lets her get a perm.

Loan, a Vietnamese woman married to a Korean man, goes to a beauty salon with her mother-in-law. As always, her mother-in-law starts to complain about her life and it gets worse and endless when the town ladies join her. Loan gets more and more nervous. The camera shots are careful and sophisticated in picturing the internal fear of a woman who starts a new life in a completely strange country. The director, being once an actress herself, impressively demonstrates her talent in catching the smallest changes in the emotion of actresses. The bluish color tone is adequate in adding fear to the film, and the performance of the supporting actresses is so good that it should not be overlooked. (BAE Ju-yeon)
