SYNOPSIS

Miri and Amit, who are pregnant with their first child, make an important decision. Not agreeing with the oppressive and coldly mechanical practices of the modern obstetrician¡¯s clinic, they decide to have their baby at home with the help of a midwife. As a married couple and artists who do video work together, they capture on camera their unusual birthing experience in a way that is more intimate than any other documentary. It is very inspiring that both parents share the experience of giving birth together, not letting it being the exclusive experience of just one sex. Moreover, the issue of ¡®giving birth¡¯ is not just a question of ¡®motherhood,¡¯ but something that involves various political issues like modern society¡¯s demands and the social environment, a woman¡¯s rights regarding her body, and equality in the relationship between a married couple. (Jay SOHN)
