SYNOPSIS

Here is a woman in a weary life of supporting a jobless husband and four kids. When she finds out that she is pregnant again, her fear of her nightmarish life must be faced. As in many other Iranian films the people in this film repeat the view that the troubles of the present are endowed by god and they believe in the promises of god¡¯s blessings. But is it really god¡¯s will for the woman to suffer endlessly? Vividly introducing her suffering through surreal, nightmarish images, the film leads us to an ambivalent and perhaps symptomatic reading of its spectacle. (MAENG Soo-jin)
