Works from the Media Workshop for Women Migrants (Special Screening)

SYNOPSIS


The Media Workshop for Women Migrants is sponsored by the Korea Arts and Culture Education Service (KACES). From Jan 10 to Jan 27, 2007, the executive committee of WFFIS in collaboration with Dangin Cultural Center opened this workshop for women migrants by marriage who live and labor within Dangin, in the southern province of Choong-Chung. Through this media workshop, the professional instrcutors educated the women migrants on how to improve communication in their community and society where they are and to express their situations. After this tutorial, they were filmed using their own voices to express themselves in front of the camera. And now with hopeful expectation for the people and neighbors in their communities to increasingly have a better understanding of women migrants and to help with their involvement in the multi cultural society of today¡¯s Korea through these works. WFFIS is proud to present this special screening to introduce these 9 different documentray films by women migrants which also shows the process of them being made.

 Directed a documentary on women in a military campside town called (2005), now working at \'visual cultural group zitta\' with interest in film production and theory on feminism.
 
 Bae Sukyung |
 Graduated from the Graduate school of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & Film, Chung-ang University. Worked as a producer for (2006). Now working at \'visual cultural group zitta\' and \'LSD\' and preparing for an experimental documentary on private writing history of women minorities.
