A massive nuclear blast has rendered the surface of the world inhospitable to human beings. At the start of a new year, one man has taken on the job of clearing out monsters on the surface. While returning to base after his first solo mission, he stumbles upon a green island full of scarecrows among which he discovers the only surviving human.
